How Do DefenderShield Pouches and Bags Work?

DefenderShield phone pouches and are designed with Ultra Armor® shielding within the back panel — the side that sits against your body when worn. This creates a directional barrier that blocks up to 99% of wireless RF radiation (300 Hz–110 GHz) between the phone and your body, including 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and cellular signals. The phone continues to function normally — your device remains connected and usable while inside the bag. These products shield EMF emitting from the phone in the direction of the shielding, but do not provide full 360° isolation — for complete signal blocking, use an Ultra Armor Faraday bag.

Tips for Maximizing Protection with Pouches and Bags

Position the shielded back panel between the phone and your body. The shielding only works when oriented correctly — the back of the bag should sit against your hip, waist, or torso.

With the EMF Pouch, you can place your phone upside down in the pouch on speakerphone, or connect air tube earbuds through the pouch opening.

Pair with DefenderShield air tube earbuds for calls or for listening to audiobooks, podcasts, or music. 1. Does the pouch or bag affect my phone’s signal or connectivity?

No. The shielding is directional — it blocks RF from direct body contact due to the placement of the shielding. Your cellular signal, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and data speed continue to function normally while the phone is inside the bag.

2. What is the difference between an EMF pouch/bag and a Faraday bag?

A pouch or bag provides directional shielding — it blocks EMF between the phone and your body while allowing the phone to remain connected. A Faraday bag provides 360° isolation with shielding on all sides — the phone is completely cut off from all signals. Use a pouch or bag for everyday carry with RF protection. Use a Faraday bag when you need complete signal isolation for privacy or cybersecurity, or if you want to eliminate all RF signals and don’t need to be connected.

3. Will these pouches and bags fit my phone with a case on?

Most DefenderShield pouches and bags are designed to accommodate standard smartphones with cases. The Hip Bag and Crossbody Bag fit phones up to 8”. Check the product dimensions against your phone-plus-case size for the best fit.

4. Do the pouches block ELF radiation from the battery?

No. Ultra Armor® shielding blocks RF radiation only (300 Hz–110 GHz). For ELF protection from the phone’s battery and processor, use an Ultra Armor+® product such as an iPhone Wallet Case or Universal Phone Shield.

5. What is the return policy?
