The case uses Signature Shielding Technology, blocking up to 99% of EMF radiation up to 10 GHz. This covers ELF from the battery, RF from cellular, WiFi, and Bluetooth. It does not cover 5G high-band millimeter wave (24 GHz+). None of the compatible iPhones operate on 5G networks. EMF Protection That Covers Five Generations of iPhone


Whether you are carrying an iPhone 6, iPhone 7, iPhone 8, or an iPhone SE (2020 or 2022), your phone still transmits the same types of electromagnetic radiation: Radio Frequency (RF) from cellular, WiFi, and Bluetooth connections, and Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) from the battery and internal circuitry. The phone may be a few years old, but the emissions have not changed.

The DefenderShield® iPhone 8/7/6/SE Wallet Case places a shielding layer at the contact point. The front cover contains Signature Shielding Technology — a multi-layer metallic composite that blocks up to 99% of EMF radiation up to 10 GHz. That covers ELF from the battery, cellular (2G through 4G LTE), WiFi (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, and RFID. The shielding addresses ELF from the battery alongside RF — a combination most competing phone cases leave out.

Note: None of the compatible iPhone models (6, 7, 8, SE 2020, SE 2022) operate on 5G networks. The Signature Shielding covers frequencies up to 10 GHz, which includes 5G low- and mid-band for ambient exposure from nearby sources, but does not extend to 5G high-band millimeter wave (24 GHz+). Because the iPhone 6, 7, 8, and SE (2020/2022) share the same 4.7-inch body dimensions, one wallet case fits all five models. No model selector needed — if your phone is on the compatibility list, this case fits. (iPhone 5 SE is not compatible — it has a smaller body.)

How to Use

Getting Set Up

1. Confirm your phone is compatible. This case fits iPhone 8, iPhone 7, iPhone 6, iPhone SE (2020), and iPhone SE (2022). It does not fit iPhone 5 SE.

2. Place your phone in the case. Press your iPhone into the anti-shock metal-plated shell. The nesting absorbs drops and holds the phone securely. Align the encased iPhone with the back of the EMF protection wallet cover and the magnets should snap the iPhone into place.

3. Load your cards and attach the wrist strap. Slide up to three cards into the RFID-blocking slots. Clip the wrist strap for clutch-style carry.


For Maximum EMF Reduction


• Close the front cover whenever the phone is against your body. Pocket: cover faces your leg. Calls: cover between screen and face. Lap: cover faces down. The shielding is directional and works exclusively through the front cover.

• An open or folded-back cover provides no shielding. The Signature Shielding layer is embedded in the front cover only. Folding the cover behind the phone to browse removes the barrier entirely.

• Use Air Tube Earbuds to shield your head during calls. The case covers the body contact point; DefenderShield Air Tube Earbuds cover the head by replacing Bluetooth with acoustic sound through a hollow tube. Together, both exposure points are addressed.

• Set the phone on its stand instead of holding it. The front cover folds into a landscape stand. Propping the phone on a desk or nightstand during video, streaming, or calls creates physical distance from your body.

• Pop the nesting off for driving. Detach the wallet, mount the nesting on a DefenderShield Magnetic Car Phone Mount, and reattach when you arrive.


Care Instructions


• Wipe the cover with a soft, barely damp cloth. Avoid alcohol and solvents.

• Dust with a dry lint-free cloth.

• Keep the magnetic closure free of lint and pocket debris.

Too bulky

I like my old Defender case… just the leather containing the magnetic clasp is wearing out… so I tried to get an exact replacement…but this wasn’t it apparently…
The one I have has a slim fit back which I find much nicer (and the single vertical simple slot for cards in the front also streamlines the fit).

Definitely works!

I love my family’s cases because I know it’s protecting my family and me from harmful EMFs. We all have cases on every electronic device we own and can tell you that they definitely block EMFs because the signal isn’t as strong as when the cases are off. This may be annoying in our insta-world but I’ve learned that good things come to those who wait. We’re also hard-wiring our house to protect us as much as possible. I’d rather live a long healthy life than have everything delivered at the speed of light. There are great consequences to speed—research microwaves, EMFs, and fast food. All three are equated with poor health. Our society would benefit greatly from slowing down!

Wear and Tear

I’ve had my phone Defender shield a little over a year now and the coating is peeling off and it looks pretty gnarly. Also more importantly I have EMF sensitivity and It doesn’t stop my brain from hurting when I use it (on speaker away from my body). So I’m not really sure how effective it is. I gave it two stars because I like the pockets for license and credit cards and that you can take your phone off of the magnetic shield for photographs.

iPhone 8 / 7 / 6 / SE EMF Blocking Wallet Case with Radiation Protection FAQ

Five models: iPhone 8, iPhone 7, iPhone 6, iPhone SE (2020), and iPhone SE (2022). All five share the same 4.7-inch body dimensions, so one case fits all of them. You do not need to select a model at checkout — just choose your color and add to cart. This case does not fit the iPhone 5 SE, which has a smaller 4.0-inch body that will not seat properly in the nesting.

RF radiation from wireless connections and ELF radiation from the battery — up to 10 GHz. That covers cellular (2G–4G LTE), WiFi (2.4 and 5 GHz), Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, RFID, and ELF from the battery. None of the compatible models use 5G, so the shielding covers every frequency these phones actually transmit. For users near 5G infrastructure, the 10 GHz range also covers ambient 5G low- and mid-band signals.

Only when the front cover is closed and between your body and the phone. The Signature Shielding is built into the front cover, not the back or sides. Close the cover and position it between you and the device — pocket, ear, lap — and you get up to 99% EMF reduction at that point. Open the cover or fold it back and the shielding is no longer between you and the phone. This is a directional design: it protects what is behind the cover while the phone stays fully connected from the other side.

No effect on either. The shielding faces your body only. The antenna communicates from the unshielded back and edges. Call quality, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and battery drain all stay the same as without the case.

The iPhone 5 SE has a 4.0-inch body — significantly smaller than the 4.7-inch body shared by the iPhone 6, 7, 8, and SE (2020/2022). If a 5 SE is placed inside this case, the nesting will not grip properly, the camera cut-out will be misaligned, and the front cover will not close flush — which compromises the shielding seal. DefenderShield does not currently manufacture a separate case for the iPhone 5 SE.

Yes — the case transfers between any of the five compatible models. If you upgrade from an iPhone 7 to an iPhone SE (2022), or hand the phone down to a family member with an iPhone 6, the same wallet case fits all of them. No new case needed.

For daily essentials, yes. Three RFID-shielded slots hold a credit card, an ID, and a transit pass. The magnetic tab keeps them enclosed, and the wrist strap turns the case into a clutch for errands. If your daily carry exceeds three cards, keep a separate wallet for the extras.

It may not charge reliably. The metallic shielding composite and case thickness can interfere with Qi charging. For consistent charging, use a Lightning cable. To wireless charge, remove the phone from the nesting first. Note: only the iPhone 8, iPhone SE (2020), and iPhone SE (2022) support wireless charging — iPhone 6 and iPhone 7 do not.

Three practical differences:

1. ELF included: Signature Shielding blocks ELF from the battery alongside RF. Most budget EMF cases do not address ELF.

2. Multi-model fit with RFID wallet: one case covers five iPhone models, with three RFID-shielded card slots, a wrist strap, a detachable nesting, and a landscape stand. Budget cases are typically single-model, fixed-shell designs with no RFID.

3. Warranty and returns: 1-year manufacturer warranty and 30-day full-refund returns, versus the 30–90-day terms typical of budget alternatives.

An older phone emits the same radiation as the day it was manufactured. Your iPhone 6, 7, 8, or SE produces the same RF and ELF emissions now as it did when it was new. Age does not reduce output — if anything, a degrading battery can increase certain ELF characteristics. The DefenderShield Wallet Case adds a verified shielding layer at the contact point, replaces your wallet with RFID-protected card storage, and includes a wristlet, landscape stand, and detachable nesting for car mounting. If you are still using the phone, it is still worth shielding.
