Good to know
These are replacement ear tips only — not earbuds, not a cable, and not an EMF shielding product. They are designed primarily for DefenderShield Air Tube Earbuds but fit most standard earbuds with a compatible nozzle diameter. Memory foam tips are an upgrade from the silicone tips included with the earbuds — they mold to your ear shape for a personalized fit that holds more securely and blocks more ambient noise.

Description

Memory Foam Conforms to Your Ear — Silicone Does Not

🎧 Compress, Insert, Expand — Custom Fit Every Time

Standard silicone tips come in fixed shapes that either fit your ear canal or they don’t. Memory foam works differently: compress the tip between your fingers, insert it into your ear, and let it expand over a few seconds to fill the contour of your ear canal. The result is a fit that conforms to your specific anatomy rather than forcing your ear to conform to the tip. This gives you a more secure hold (the tips don’t slide out during movement), improved comfort (less pressure, no hard edges), and better passive noise isolation (the expanded foam seals the canal more completely than silicone).

Three Sizes — Find Your Fit

📏 Small (10.6 mm) · Medium (11.5 mm) · Large (12.3 mm)

The pack includes three sizes to cover the range of ear canal diameters. If you’ve always felt standard silicone tips were too loose or too tight, the memory foam’s ability to expand and conform may solve the problem regardless of which size you choose. Start with the size closest to your current silicone tip and go from there.

How to use

Installing the Tips

1. Remove the existing tip. Gently pull the silicone tip off the earbud nozzle. Twist slightly while pulling to release.

2. Push the memory foam tip on. Align the opening of the foam tip with the earbud nozzle and press firmly until it seats against the base. The fit should be snug.

3. Compress, insert, hold. Roll the foam tip between your fingers to compress it. While compressed, insert it into your ear canal. Hold it in place for 3–5 seconds while the foam expands and seals to the shape of your ear.

Tips for Best Results

• Compress the foam fully before inserting — half-compressed tips may not expand properly into the ear canal.

• Memory foam tips may take slightly longer to insert than silicone. The extra few seconds provide a noticeably better seal.

• Replace foam tips when they no longer spring back to their original shape after compression. Worn tips lose their ability to expand and seal.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Memory Foam Earbud Tips FAQ

Material and fit. Silicone tips are firm and hold a fixed shape. Memory foam tips are compressible — you squeeze them, insert them, and they expand to fill the contour of your ear canal. The foam conforms to your ear rather than the other way around, which generally provides a more comfortable hold and better passive noise isolation.

Yes. They are designed primarily for DefenderShield Air Tube Earbuds (both USB-C and 3.5 mm). They also fit most standard earbuds with a compatible nozzle diameter.

Start with the size closest to the silicone tip you currently use. If you don’t know your size, try Medium first — it fits most ears. If it feels loose or doesn’t seal, try the other sizes. A correct fit should feel snug without discomfort, and the foam should expand to fill the ear canal completely.

Memory foam tips wear out faster than silicone because the foam compresses and expands with every use. When the tips no longer spring back to their original shape after you release them, or when they feel flat and don’t seal the ear canal anymore, replace them.

Generally yes. Memory foam creates a more complete seal in the ear canal than silicone, which improves passive noise isolation. This means less ambient noise reaches your ears without any active noise cancellation. The difference is most noticeable in loud environments like trains, planes, and open offices.

No. This is a pack of replacement memory foam ear tips only. The earbuds are sold separately. See the DefenderShield Air Tube Earbuds product page.
