Your phone emits Radio Frequency (RF) radiation from cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth, and 5G connections, and Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) radiation from its battery — continuously,  whenever it is on. An EMF blocking phone case is a more permanent case for your phone, while this EMF phone shield can be used as little or as frequently as needed with your phone.

How to Use

1. While on Calls — Place the shield over the screen.

Place the shield flat against the phone’s screen before holding the phone to your ear. The shield now sits between the phone and your head, reducing EMF exposure at the closest contact point during a call. Use the phone’s speaker or DefenderShield Air Tube Earbuds if you prefer hands-free.


2. While texting and browsing — Place the shield on the back.

Flip the shield to the back of the phone so it sits between the device and your hand, lap, or desk. The screen stays visible and touch-responsive while the shield blocks emissions heading toward your body.


3. In a Pocket or bag — Place the shield on the side closest to your body with the elastic bands on.

Strap the shield to the phone using the included elastic bands. Position the shield between the phone and your body — for example, place the shield facing your leg, with the phone on the other side, in a front pocket. The bands keep it in place so you do not need to adjust it every time you pull the phone out.


RFID Pockets

Slide a credit card or ID into either of the two built-in RFID-blocking pockets. The pockets sit flat against the shield and do not add meaningful thickness.

Good but needs work

My mind is at ease knowing I have a bit of EMF protection while using or carrying my phone. What would improve it is to have the one-sided cover be able to flip over like a spiral-bound notepad does. I realize this would have to be integrated with a phone case (preferably biodegradable like Pela). This feature I describe would allow for a less frustrating experience when trying to take a picture or needing to log in and the elastic band is blocking facial recognition or a button I need. I’m still happy to have it but I would gladly upgrade if you find a way to swivel the protector without elastic bands.

The shield is a great idea but….

The band are not great. They are already stretching out of shape, and I foresee them not working in the near future. The phone shield is not cheap cost wise, so why use the cheesy bands. Don’t think I would recommend this product. I have bought previous products from this company, and they have been the best.

Useful Shield, hard to keep up with the straps

I bought two shields, one for myself and one for my mother. Since I have been using the shield daily, especially when putting my phone in my pocket, I have had less soreness after having the phone in that area. In order to use my iPhone SE, I have to place one strap over the camera and one over the home button to keep it out of the way of the screen. The straps are hard to keep on. I lost one of mine the second day and my mom graciously switched with me so I could have two straps.

The shielding is the same. The form factor is completely different. DefenderShield wallet cases wrap around the phone and include card slots, a wrist strap, a landscape stand, and a magnetic closure. The Phone Shield is a flat panel — 0.125 inches thick, 1.4 oz — that you position between your body and the phone as needed. It has no case functionality, no stand, no strap, and no closure. What it does have is maximum simplicity for shielding your body from your phone whenever you need it. Choose the wallet case if you want an all-in-one carry solution. Choose the shield if you want the lightest possible universal shielding layer with zero phone setup.

It doesn’t matter which way the phone shield is facing, as long as it is placed between the phone and your body. On a call, place the shield flat against the screen and hold the phone to your ear. The shield sits between the screen and your face. While texting, flip it to the back — the shield sits between the phone and your hand. In a pocket, strap it to the phone so it faces your body. The rule is always the same: shield between phone and body.

No impact on either. The shield blocks directional EMF toward your body, while allowing the phone’s antenna to communicate from the opposite exposed side. Cellular reception, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and battery drain all remain unchanged.
