Good to know
When your laptop is sealed inside, it cannot send or receive any signals — including WiFi, Bluetooth, and cellular hotspots. Always verify your laptop dimensions fit within the selected size before ordering. Your laptop may appear to be connected when closed, but the bag creates a physical RF barrier that prevents any remote access. Like all Faraday products, your device cannot be used while inside — this is the necessary trade-off for complete signal isolation. The VELCRO closure must be pressed firmly along its full length to achieve complete blocking. The bag is sized to be carried inside a larger backpack or bag.

DESCRIPTION

Complete Signal Isolation for Cybersecurity, Privacy, and EMP Protection

Your laptop is rarely truly offline. Even when closed, sleeping, or with wireless settings turned off, it can still expose sensitive data through active signals and background connectivity. The DefenderShield® Ultra Armor Laptop & Tablet Faraday Bag creates a complete Faraday cage around your device, blocking all incoming and outgoing wireless signals the moment the VELCRO closure is fully sealed. Cellular, 5G, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, RFID, and NFC are cut off at the source — no signal enters and no signal exits.

Unlike software settings that can be bypassed, spoofed, or re-enabled, this is hardware-level signal isolation. The physics does the work. That makes the Ultra Armor bag a practical solution for anyone who wants stronger protection against tracking, unauthorized access, remote intrusion, and data exfiltration.

Built with Ultra Armor® multi-layer shielding materials and tested to MIL-STD-461G, this bag is also designed to help protect devices from EMP attacks and solar flare / CME-related events that can damage unprotected electronics.

It also helps reduce exposure to wireless EMF radiation when the laptop is on your lap, making it a comprehensive protection solution for both digital privacy and digital wellness.

Fits More Than Just Your Laptop

Sized to fit laptops up to 16.5 inches, the Ultra Armor bag functions as more than a laptop sleeve. It is designed to accommodate tablets, multiple smartphones, external hard drives, smart home devices, and small cameras, making it ideal for travel, field operations, executive carry, and secure business environments where more than one device may need to be isolated at the same time.

The VELCRO closure creates a complete full-perimeter seal, helping ensure reliable signal isolation when the bag is properly closed. Combined with a durable, water-resistant outer shell and multi-layer internal shielding, the bag is built for the environments it was made for: executive travel, law enforcement, field operations, remote work, and any setting where digital security is non-negotiable.

Features
🛡️

360° Multi-Layer Full-Spectrum Signal Attenuation

Proprietary multi-layer metallic composite sewn into the bag creates a complete Faraday cage that blocks all wireless signals simultaneously — EMF, EMP, WiFi, Cellular, 5G, VHF, UHF, Bluetooth, Satellite, RFID/NFC, GPS, and HF. 100% blocking when the VELCRO closure is fully sealed. No frequency gaps. No partial attenuation.

Lab-Tested EMP & CME Protection — MIL-STD-461G Compliant

Independently tested to MIL-STD-461G — the US military standard for electromagnetic compatibility — for EMP and coronal mass ejection (CME/solar flare) compliance. Prevents irreversible hardware damage and data loss from pulse events that no firewall, antivirus, or VPN can defend against. Test documentation available on request.

💻

Fits Laptops Up to 16.5" — Multi-Device Capacity

Sized to accommodate laptops up to 16.5" while also storing tablets, multiple smartphones, external hard drives, smart home devices, and small cameras simultaneously. A single portable Faraday enclosure for every device you carry in the field or on the road.

🔒

Leakproof VELCRO Closure — Complete Signal Seal

The VELCRO closure creates a full-perimeter leakproof seal around the Faraday compartment opening. Press firmly across the full length, including the corners, for complete signal isolation. No annoying roll-down openings. No magnets. No zippers. No signal gaps. The closure design is the most critical factor in Faraday bag performance — this one is engineered to seal correctly and easily every time.

🔐

Cybersecurity & Data Protection

When sealed, no apps or malicious code can be remotely triggered or wiped, no communication can penetrate, and no one can access the microphone, camera, GPS location, or data. Protects against RF hacking, man-in-the-middle attacks, rogue access points, IMSI catchers, and passive surveillance — threats that software security alone cannot address.

📡

Blocks the Full Range of Wireless Signals

EMF · EMP · WiFi · Cellular · 5G · VHF · UHF · Bluetooth · Satellite · RFID/NFC · GPS · HF — all 12 wireless protocols simultaneously attenuated to help limit connectivity for enhanced data security across every current and emerging wireless standard.

How to Use

Getting Set Up

  1. Check your laptop dimensions before use. Measure your laptop (including any protective case) and confirm it fits within the bag. Most laptops up to 14.75" x 10" x 1.5" will fit.

  2. Forcing an oversized device in will prevent a full VELCRO seal.

  3. Place your laptop (and any additional devices) fully inside. Ensure all devices sit completely inside with no part protruding past the opening — any protrusion creates a signal gap and compromises the shielding.

  4. Seal the VELCRO closure completely. Fold the pouch flap over and press firmly along the entire folded length from one edge to the other, including the corners. An incomplete seal dampens but may not eliminate signals — this is the most common cause of reduced shielding effectiveness.

  5. Verify the seal is working. Using another device, attempt to ping your laptop's WiFi or Bluetooth. Both should be unreachable. For a cell-connected device inside, attempt a call — it should go to voicemail immediately. Alternatively, use a free RF meter app before and after sealing and confirm readings drop to zero.

  6. Carry inside a larger bag or backpack. The Faraday bag is designed to be placed inside a laptop bag, backpack, or briefcase.

For Maximum Cybersecurity and Privacy

  • Business and executive travel: Seal your laptop before boarding — prevents passive WiFi scanning at airports, hotel networks, and transit hubs from accessing an open or sleeping device.

  • Sensitive meetings: A sealed laptop cannot connect to rogue access points, respond to Bluetooth pairing requests, or be accessed via remote exploits during discussions.

  • Field operations and law enforcement: Prevents remote wiping or data exfiltration of a seized or transported device, preserving chain of custody and data integrity.

  • EMP/CME preparedness: Store backup drives, spare phones, and critical electronics inside the sealed bag as part of an emergency kit — EMP events can permanently destroy unshielded electronics in seconds.

  • Remote work and commuting: Seal when not actively using to prevent background data harvesting via public WiFi networks and Bluetooth scanners on trains, in cafes, and in shared workspaces.

Care Instructions

  • Clean the exterior with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not submerge in water.

  • Keep the VELCRO closure free from lint and debris for optimal sealing. Clear with a soft brush if sealing resistance increases.

  • Do not puncture, cut, or sharply fold the shielding layer — this can damage the metallic composite and reduce effectiveness.

  • Do not machine wash. Air dry completely after any cleaning before use.

  • Store flat or in its natural shape. Avoid heavy compression that could degrade the shielding material over time.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Ultra Armor Faraday Bag for Laptop & Tablet — Cybersecurity, Privacy & EMP Attack Shield FAQ

Yes — for specific, defined use cases. It is not for everyone, and it is worth understanding when it matters.

If you carry a laptop with sensitive client data, confidential files, proprietary IP, or government/law enforcement materials, a Faraday bag provides a layer of protection that no firewall, VPN, or antivirus software can replicate: physical electromagnetic isolation.

No remote access, no passive WiFi scanning, no Bluetooth exploitation, and no EMP damage is possible when the device is sealed. For everyday home use, where your laptop sits on a desk connected to your home network, the value is lower. For executive travel, field operations, sensitive meetings, or EMP preparedness, it is not just worth it — it is the only hardware-level solution available.

No — this is a fundamental limitation of all Faraday products, not a defect. A Faraday bag works by creating a sealed conductive enclosure.

The moment you open the bag to use the device, the seal is broken and signals can enter or exit. This is the necessary trade-off for complete signal isolation: you get absolute security, or you get usability — not both at the same time. The bag is designed for storage, transit, sensitive meetings where you set the laptop aside, field transport where chain-of-custody matters, and EMP preparedness. When you need to work, you unseal the bag. When you need the device off-grid, you seal it.

Faraday bags work — but quality varies significantly, and not all products on the market perform as claimed.

The physics behind a Faraday cage is well-established and has been used in military and laboratory settings for decades. The variable is manufacturing quality: a single-layer shielding fabric with an improperly designed closure will dampen signals, not block them.

The Ultra Armor Laptop Faraday Bag is independently lab-tested to MIL-STD-461G — a published, verifiable military standard with documented test results available on request.

Yes — a powered-down or sleeping laptop is not fully disconnected.

When sleeping, most modern laptops respond to WiFi wake-on-LAN signals and Bluetooth pairing requests. When fully shut down, certain firmware states can still broadcast identifiable hardware signals.

The Ultra Armor Faraday bag creates a physics-based barrier that does not rely on the laptop's software, honoring a power state — because software can be exploited, misconfigured, or bypassed. This is particularly critical in law enforcement evidence transport, executive travel through high-risk environments, and any scenario where verified signal isolation — not assumed isolation — is required.

Yes — EMP/CME protection is one of the design requirements this bag was independently tested against.

The Ultra Armor Laptop Faraday Bag is tested to MIL-STD-461G for electromagnetic pulse compliance. An EMP or coronal mass ejection (solar flare / CME) event generates a pulse of electromagnetic energy that can instantly and permanently destroy the circuitry of unprotected electronics — even devices that are powered off.

When your laptop is sealed inside this bag, it is physically isolated from the external electromagnetic field. The hardware is protected. The data is preserved. Test documentation is available on request. For EMP preparedness, store your most critical backup device sealed inside the bag as part of your emergency kit.

The most common reasons are physical damage to the shielding layer and closure degradation — not inherent product failure.

Faraday bags lose effectiveness when:

1. The metallic shielding composite is punctured, cut, or repeatedly sharp-folded, which breaks the conductive mesh.

2. The closure — velcro, magnetic, or zipper — degrades or accumulates debris that prevents a complete seal.

3. The shielding fabric is machine-washed with detergents that break down the metallic fibers.

The Ultra Armor bag uses a VELCRO closure that can be visually inspected for seal integrity every use and cleaned with a soft brush if debris accumulates. If shielding effectiveness ever seems reduced, the recommended first step is to test the closure seal and re-press it firmly before assuming shielding degradation. Q7. How do I verify the bag is actually blocking signals?

Three quick tests, no equipment required.

First: connect your laptop to a known WiFi network, seal it inside the bag, then attempt to connect to it from another device — it should be completely unreachable.

Second: enable Bluetooth before sealing, then attempt to pair from a phone — no devices should appear.

Third: for a more precise measurement, use a free RF meter app on your phone, hold it against the outside of the sealed bag, and confirm readings drop to zero.

The most common cause of an incomplete test result is an incompletely sealed VELCRO closure — press firmly across the full length, including the corners, every time. If the seal is complete and signals are still detected, contact DefenderShield support.

A regular laptop sleeve provides physical protection — scratch resistance, padding against bumps. It has no signal-blocking capability and does nothing to prevent remote access, tracking, or data exfiltration. A Faraday bag is lined with a conductive metallic composite that creates an electromagnetic enclosure, blocking all wireless signals from entering or exiting.

The Ultra Armor Laptop Faraday Bag does both: the water-resistant padded outer shell protects the device physically, while the inner Ultra Armor shielding provides complete signal isolation. A regular sleeve is passive protection. A Faraday bag is active cybersecurity. The price difference reflects an additional layer of technology inside the sleeve.

The bag fits most laptops up to 16.5" measured diagonally by screen size. Always measure your entire device, including any protective case — not just the screen diagonal — and compare to the bag's interior dimensions (16” x 11.4”) before ordering. Most devices up to 14.75” x 10” will fit perfectly in the bag. A thick hard-shell or rubberized case adds meaningful bulk that can prevent a full VELCRO seal; an improperly sealed bag will not provide complete signal blocking. If your laptop with case is borderline, contact DefenderShield support with your device's actual length, width, and depth measurements for a fit confirmation. The bag also accommodates tablets, multiple smartphones, external drives, and small cameras alongside the laptop.

Three specific, verifiable differences:

1. MIL-STD-461G EMP/CME lab certification — a documented result from an independent lab; most competing laptop bags claim EMP protection without any published test standard you can verify.

2. Full 12-protocol spectrum coverage blocking the widest spectrum of RF frequencies — EMF, EMP, WiFi (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), cellular (5G, 4G LTE), VHF, UHF, Bluetooth, Satellite, RFID/NFC, GPS, and HF simultaneously; budget bags typically cover a narrow frequency band with no test data. Our shielding is tested to block up to 110 GHz.

3. Multi-layered shielding — by using 2 layers of faraday shielding, we ensure efficacy in case of damage to one of the shielded layers. Other bags only use one layer, compromising efficacy if there is a defect or damage to the bag.
