How Do DefenderShield Pouches and Bags Work?
DefenderShield phone pouches and are designed with Ultra Armor® shielding within the back panel — the side that sits against your body when worn. This creates a directional barrier that blocks up to 99% of wireless RF radiation (300 Hz–110 GHz) between the phone and your body, including 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and cellular signals. The phone continues to function normally — your device remains connected and usable while inside the bag. These products shield EMF emitting from the phone in the direction of the shielding, but do not provide full 360° isolation — for complete signal blocking, use an Ultra Armor Faraday bag.
Which Pouch or Bag Should You Buy?
EMF Protection Pouch — A wearable, lightweight neoprene pouch with Ultra Armor® shielding in the back, a detachable crossbody strap, VELCRO® belt loop, magnetic full flap closure, pen loop, and additional front pocket for cards or small items. Best for: everyday hands-free carry with versatile attachment options — wear it on a crossbody strap, loop it to a belt, or connect it to a bag.
EMF Radiation Blocking Hip Bag / Fanny Pack — A multi-compartment hands-free bag with Ultra Armor® shielding in the back, multiple zippered compartments, interior mesh pockets, a rotating key hook, an adjustable nylon strap with plastic buckle for hip, crossbody, or sling wear. Water-resistant, rugged nylon materials. Fits phones up to 8”. Best for: errands, workouts, walking, hiking, events, amusement parks, and any active situation where you want hands-free RF protection with room for a phone, keys, wallet, passport, and other small items.
EMF Protection Crossbody Bag — A larger hands-free bag with Ultra Armor® shielding in the back panel, multiple zippered compartments, 4 RFID-blocking card slots in the front pocket, a concealed zippered water bottle pocket (fits bottles up to 3.75” diameter), a hidden rear zipper pocket for passports and documents, mesh interior pockets, and an adjustable crossbody strap with comfort pad extending to 37” with a clip-on D-ring for left/right shoulder switching. Durable nylon. Fits phones up to 8”. Best for: daily carry replacement, travel, and anyone who wants EMF protection combined with a full-featured everyday bag. Do not store electronic devices in the hidden back pocket, as the shielding will no longer be between your body and the device.
If you are unsure, start with the EMF Pouch for lightweight everyday carry or the Hip Bag for hands-free active use with a little more accessory storage. If you want a slightly bigger bag with water bottle storage and RFID card protection, choose the Crossbody Bag.
Tips for Maximizing Protection with Pouches and Bags
Position the shielded back panel between the phone and your body. The shielding only works when oriented correctly — the back of the bag should sit against your hip, waist, or torso.
With the EMF Pouch, you can place your phone upside down in the pouch on speakerphone, or connect air tube earbuds through the pouch opening.
Pair with DefenderShield air tube earbuds for calls or for listening to audiobooks, podcasts, or music. The bag shields the body; the air tube earbuds allow you to take calls while eliminating RF and ELF at the ear. For maximum reduction during extended body carry, combine a pouch or bag with an EMF phone case. The case provides additional ELF protection, and directional shielding when the phone is removed for use against the head or hands.
EMF Phone Pouches & Bags FAQ
1. Does the pouch or bag affect my phone’s signal or connectivity?
No. The shielding is directional — it blocks RF from direct body contact due to the placement of the shielding. Your cellular signal, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and data speed continue to function normally while the phone is inside the bag.
2. What is the difference between an EMF pouch/bag and a Faraday bag?
A pouch or bag provides directional shielding — it blocks EMF between the phone and your body while allowing the phone to remain connected. A Faraday bag provides 360° isolation with shielding on all sides — the phone is completely cut off from all signals. Use a pouch or bag for everyday carry with RF protection. Use a Faraday bag when you need complete signal isolation for privacy or cybersecurity, or if you want to eliminate all RF signals and don’t need to be connected.
3. Will these pouches and bags fit my phone with a case on?
Most DefenderShield pouches and bags are designed to accommodate standard smartphones with cases. The Hip Bag and Crossbody Bag fit phones up to 8”. Check the product dimensions against your phone-plus-case size for the best fit.
4. Do the pouches block ELF radiation from the battery?
No. Ultra Armor® shielding blocks RF radiation only (300 Hz–110 GHz). For ELF protection from the phone’s battery and processor, use an Ultra Armor+® product such as an iPhone Wallet Case or Universal Phone Shield.
5. What is the return policy?
DefenderShield offers a 30-day return window with a full refund on unused products if you are not satisfied with your purchase. All pouches and bags include a 1-year manufacturer warranty covering material defects and shielding performance. See full returns policy
