FAQs – Tablet/iPad EMF Radiation

Tablet EMF Radiation Emissions

Can I develop health problems from using a tablet or iPad®?

Yes. Close exposure to tablet EMF radiation emissions can be a health risk. Tablet computers emit two types of EMF: Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) radiation and Radio Frequency (RF) radiation which includes WiFi, Bluetooth and cellular signals (if supported by your tablet) up to 10 GHz. DefenderShield® technology blocks up to 99% of EMF radiation from 0-10 GHz, which encompasses almost all frequencies used in the current 5G network.

More and more, particularly in recent years, scientific studies have confirmed that EMF radiation can adversely alter the biological operations of the body. In more serious cases, exposure to EMF may create tumors, reduce sperm count, lead to cancer and other serious health concerns.

Where does the radiation emit from a tablet or iPad?

Radiation is generated by a tablet in all directions; back, screen and sides, with the most radiation emitted from the back and top of the tablet where the Radio Frequency (RF) transmitters are located. Exposure to radiation from the screen of a tablet is reduced because it is not touching the body directly.

As a rule of thumb, when one foot away from the emitting source the dangers of these emissions are significantly reduced by as much as 80%.

What types of radiation do tablets and iPads® emit?

Tablets and iPads® emit Radio Frequency (RF) and Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) radiation up to 10 GHz. DefenderShield® technology blocks up to 99% of EMF radiation from 0-10 GHz, which encompasses almost all frequencies used in the current 5G network. Tablets also generate heat radiation, but less than a laptop.
